Women in Math: Sonia Kovalevsky Math Day

Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Day

UPDATE: We've reached our dollar goal, but we still have a need!  Every dollar counts toward making our 'Sonia Kovalevsky Math Day' as special as possible for girls in grades 7-12.  Please consider still donating or sharing.  Thank you!

We need more donors, to show that we deeply care and are passionate about the need to support young women in mathematics, and STEM fields in general. When women do not consider careers in STEM fields, we lose lots of talent.

Help us celebrate women and girls in math by supporting Fresno State's Sonia Kovalevsky Math Day (SK Day)!

This is an annual event organized by the Department of Mathematics at Fresno State since 2013. The goal of this event is to help break down gender-stereotyping regarding the success of females in traditionally male-dominated careers and to provide role models and encouragement for the girls attending our SK Day.

The conference provides focused engagement of middle school and high school girls from all backgrounds in math, and is a gateway for empowering girls to see themselves as future participants in math and math-related careers. Math and science, and math-related careers are fun, exciting, and rewarding - and so is SK Day!
