At Fresno State, we know that access alone does not guarantee success.
Many students—especially those navigating complex systems or systemic barriers—struggle to find connection, clarity, and coordinated support. Too often, resources exist, but they are spread across different programs and spaces, making it harder for students to fully access the support they need.
The Student Success and Belonging Center (SSBC) was created to change that.
SSBC is a centralized hub that brings together programs, resources, and support systems to help students feel seen, supported, and connected throughout their college journey. Grounded in the legacy of the Cross Cultural and Gender Center, and building on a strong foundation of student success and cultural programs, the center expands how we support students in more intentional and coordinated ways.
Through SSBC, students are connected to mentorship, community, and critical campus resources that support both their academic and personal success. By removing barriers and creating clearer pathways, the center helps students navigate college with confidence and purpose.
Beyond resources, SSBC builds community.
It creates space for students to connect, share their experiences, and engage in meaningful programs that strengthen their sense of belonging. When students feel like they belong, they are more likely to stay, succeed, and lead.
