Keep our Trailers Rolling

Physics Outreach

Our Physics students provide hands-on science experiences to K-12 students across the Central Valley. These experiences not only deepen Fresno State students' understanding of their academic subjects but also foster personal growth, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that are crucial for success in both their careers and lives.

This program is made possible through a fleet of vans and trailers packed with engaging science equipment, for interactive demonstrations. To keep these valuable experiences on the road, ongoing maintenance and support are essential. Currently, we need:

  • New tires for one van
  • Two oil changes
  • Brake replacements for one van
  • Minor repairs to two trailers, including bodywork and door repairs

Your generous support of Physics Outreach will directly contribute to the repair and upkeep of these essential vehicles, helping students continue to inspire youth with dynamic, interactive science lessons. All gifts under $400 will be dedicated to repairing our trailers and vans, ensuring we can keep delivering these impactful experiences to every community we serve.

School Site Visits

Each year, we visit dozens of schools, introducing hundreds of students to scientific concepts like torque, pressure, momentum, and superconductivity in ways that are fun, engaging, and inspiring. From August to October 2024, we held 27 demonstrations at local schools, including  Fremont Elementary in Fowler, John Adams Elementary in Madera, and Riverview Elementary in Fresno, providing demonstrations to over 930 students. These school site visits bring science to life and spark curiosity in young minds, planting seeds for future scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers.

Your generous contribution of $400 or more will be designated to supporting school site visits ensuring that even more schools can experience our interactive demonstrations, enabling students to explore and understand the world around them. Thank you for helping us keep science on the road and into the classroom!
