Welcome to the Fresno State Athletics page for the 2023 Day of Giving! Your sport-specific gift provides the resources for Bulldog student-athletes to strive for excellence in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
As the costs of providing CHAMPIONSHIP student-athlete experiences continue to rise, support from our Red Wave Family is more crucial than ever. We hope you’ll be one of 40 DONORS to give to Fresno State Women's Water Polo today!
A note from the coach:
This program did not exist in 2016.
It is hard to believe that we have been able to grow this program from non-existence to a three-time conference champion and top-10 ranking in just six years of competition. We have thrived off of the support of the community, through your attendance at our games and your financial contributions.
In order for us to take another step forward, we must fund the needs of our growing program. Each year, we prioritize nutrition for our student-athletes. I don’t want a lack of money, time, or energy to be the reason our student-athletes don’t properly sustain themselves throughout the day. Since this has been made a priority and partially funded, our academic and our athletic performance has improved. We would like to provide hot meals to our athletes and need to grow our funds in order to do this consistently for the team.
We have also used Fund for Excellence dollars to fund our team retreats and individual enrichment exercises. Growing a holistic person, good communicator, and emotionally aware athlete makes for better Fresno State graduates and incredible future employees, managers, coaches, and leaders.
The next item of need is an outdoor classroom for the team. Our season is in the coldest part of the year, and our athletes are out on deck early in the morning. We have limited space for film study, and the space we have available to us is in high demand during our season. This will make it easier for us to run the type of training we need to best teach our student-athletes what they need to know about the game and their opponents.
Thank you for all of your support; we look forward to seeing you on the pool deck soon!
