The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies LGBTQ2+ Studies Minor is dedicated to teaching our Fresno State students the history and culture of our LGBTQ2+ communities and how to better serve them in their future careers and community advocacy. The LGBTQ2+ Studies Endowed Scholarship is the first scholarship at Fresno State dedicated to supporting students' education and future research in LGBTQ2+ Studies.
Being awarded this scholarship will significantly impact LGBTQ2+ Studies students' educational success as it will provide critical financial support as well as recognition of their scholarship that they can use for future graduate applications and jobs.
LGBTQ2+ Studies students come from across the university, representing every college and almost every degree. Many of our students take the LGBTQ2+ Studies minor in order to better help their communities and be allies. This scholarship will uplift our future changemakers in their pursuit of finishing their degrees and successfully graduating from Fresno State. The funding from these scholarships provides vital support to alleviate financial barriers, such as the cost of books, transportation, housing, and food.
