While women’s water polo may be the most recent addition to the slate of sports at Fresno State, Bulldog spirit is deep in our hearts, and Valley Pride is our number one team value!!
Everyone who chooses to play for this team understands that the Valley breeds resilience and grit, and that is what we are: a gritty, resilient team. We seek to have a competitive edge and to play courageously for each other while trying to change the status-quo of women’s water polo at the NCAA level.
When we started our program in 2017, we felt that adequate nutrition and access to pre-and post-training fuel would help us not only in the pool but also in the classroom. In our short tenure as a program, our provision of snacks and meals has led to improved performance in the water and higher team GPAs.
With our quick rise in the national rankings and a conference championship under our belt, we have proven that we are a team that you can get behind. Our preparation each day ensures that on game day we are prepared to RISE UP against our opponents. Part of our preparation is not only how we fuel, but how we train. Certain pieces of training equipment, such as heart rate monitors, would be helpful in our journey that is outside the scope of our general budget. These items will help each individual athlete reach their fullest potential and better understand their bodies. The emphasis that we place on nutrition and training principles ensures that we are ready to compete at the highest level and represent Fresno State and the Red Wave.
