Competitions provide a hands-on, real-life experience for students to test out their newly acquired skills and knowledge. These activities promote collaboration and networking and help students hone soft skills. The opportunity to participate in a competition is more than fun, it connects students with industry and insight that is only available through this type of experience. Past alumni, take this moment to help pay it forward in honor of those that supported your ability to compete.

If you are an alumni of our department, you likely had the experience of going to "Reno" and other competitions prior to your graduation. Likely, you know how rewarding that experience was and impactful to your career. Here is a testimony from one of our faculty alum, Christi Banks:
I attended the ASC Reno in the Spring of 1993 on the Residential Team. Because I did not have experience in the field, the competition environment allowed me an opportunity to experience hands on what it was like to propose on a real life construction project under pressure. I learned teambuilding skills, leadership skills, estimating and scheduling skills in a fun, educational environment. To this day, many of the ASC team members still keep in touch and are actively involved in the Construction Management Program at Fresno State. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back and provide our current students an opportunity to experience the hands-on competition experience that makes our degree program unique. Support our students today and give someone an opportunity of a lifetime!!

Hello everyone!!
This Fall semester, in the Construction Management Department, our Heavy Civil team is working hard to be well prepared and participate in the student's competition organized by the Associated Schools of Construction held in Reno next February. (Check this video if you want to know more about the completion!)
We will put our heart, brain, and skills to perform as best as possible and be the BOLD team in the competition! But also, we will appreciate so much any donation that might help us with the logistics of the trip.
Any quantity is worth it and will mean a lot for us! We will feel your support.

Covers the cost of a competition polo shirt for a student attending a competition.
Covers the cost of materials and competition gear for a student attending one of the competitions.
Covers a portion of the travel cost for a student to attend a competition.
Fully covers the cost of a student for regional competition for $450 Each years student teams attend the ASC Student Competition. Each student typically costs $450 to attend this competition. This includes fees, travel, lodging, food, polo shirt, and supplies.
Fully covers the cost of a student to attend a national competition for $1,000 Each year our students compete in construction management and architecture competitions across the nation. Each student typically costs $1,000 to attend this competition. This includes fees, travel, lodging, food, polo shirt, and supplies.
