Fresno State's love for bulldogs began in 1921 when students were greeted by a white bulldog during lunch. Adoration for him spread across campus and the community and the Bulldog was adopted as the official University mascot. An official live mascot on campus dates back to as early as 1935. Today, alumni, fans and students recognize Victor E. Bulldog III as the University’s official live mascot. Victor E. is cared for and owned by the Fresno State Alumni Association. Since arriving in 2015, he's inspired and cheered alongside the Red Wave at athletic events, and he has participated in campus activities and community events. He has also been known to wander around campus giving our scholarly students a “pup” talk. These days Victor E.’s vibrant presence as one of Fresno State’s most prominent social media influencers lifts spirits and spurs lively interaction. He has also learned how to use Zoom and participates in virtual events, staying connected to students, alumni and the community. |
